The goal of the AcTour project “Active Tourism for Sustainable Development” was to introduce active tourism as a new professional activity in rural areas with the help of vocational training.
A special emphasis was placed on green tourism, the main target groups being seniors and people with special needs as well as entrepreneurs in the countryside (restaurant and family hotel owners, mountain guides, sports instructors, heritage interpreters, etc.).
Key results of the project:
- Education manual and learning plan for the active tourism field;
- Connected tourism providers from the field of active tourism;
- Map of competences for the active tourism field (graphic image of the main competences sought by the labour market);
- Dissemination of project results (implementation of meetings, workshops, local promotional events, online newsletters published);
- Website established, as well as interactive online tools for education in active tourism.
