The main goal of the project was to recognise, evaluate and exploit cultural resources of a certain area (The Heart of Slovenia), particularly intangible cultural heritage (such as tradition, folk knowledge, skills, manufacturing techniques of craft products), to strengthen and enhance regional identity and quality of life as well as to increase attraction and competitiveness of the participating regions in the project.
Through this project a connection between heritage and local entrepreneurship was established, which strengthened the capability for innovative capitalisation of cultural resources, entrepreneurship and investments. We therefore fostered the development of new innovative products, attractive to inhabitants, who identified with them, as well as tourists.
Key results in the project:
- Condition analysis in the field of intangible heritage in the area of the Heart of Slovenia.
- Stakeholder trainings for the inclusion of new contents in integral tourism offers.
- Trainings of traditional knowledge bearers to transfer the knowledge to younger generations.
- Strategy of the use of cultural resources for sustainable regional development.
- Brochure ‘Our Cultural Wealth’.
- Promotional materials with the theme of living heritage.
This project is implemented trough the Central Europe Programme co-financed by the ERDF.
