Abraham’s Key of the Heart of Slovenia – Experience of a Connected Village for Slovenia’s Future

Project contents: Abraham’s Key is a unique project which was formed in 2009 in the Heart of Slovenia. A concept of common 50th birthday celebration with an emphasis on charity evolved from the idea of Jože Kos from Polšnik and was carried out in cooperation with the inhabitants of the entire village, which the Polšnik Tourism Society connects. Private initiative grew into an interconnection of birthday men from different parts of Slovenia, their relatives, locals, local communities, entrepreneurs, societies, and emigrants. It also connected the locals and gave them the impetus to come up with new ideas and projects.
Within the framework of the LAG project, the Polšnik Tourism Society made a documentary on the basis of the experience of organising the event Abraham’s Key in 2009. At the same time, a brochure was published about their activity related to the event called "The March from Church to Church", a concert of their choir MePZ LMB was recorded and decorative accessories for the members of the choir were made. The Polšnik Tourism Society also organised different motivational workshops and meetings for the inhabitants of the village and members of the society as well as managed publicity with themes related to the project.
The project Abraham’s Key of the Heart of Slovenia is sustainably-oriented as it is implemented each year with new people and new contents which contribute to a better quality of life in the Heart of Slovenia.
