About the project:
The society for development and protection of the Sitarjevec hill initiates sanation and further development of the Sitarjevec mine for educational purposes. This lead and zinc mine belongs to bigger ore sites in Slovenia and with its minerals it also presents a special natural non-living nature of Slovene and European significance. Within the project supported by LAG "The Heart of Slovenia", the society for development and protection of the Sitarjevec mine intended to arrange the surroundings of the mine in the vicinity of the main and exit pits for a better security of visitors. By establishing these conditions it was possible to further develop the mine's offer and arrange an open learning space of national and European importance.
